There is nothing new under the sun.

Why I love reading the Liturgy of the hours

As I read the liturgy of the hours a very old Catholic Spiritual reading practice for most all consecrated religious, I always find some tidbit from the past that is repeated over and over again. As mankind continues in their sinful ways God is always calling us back to Himself. As I read I have in mind the mission given to me for these times. Today I share with you the reading from Pope St. Clement as well as one of the prayers for the day. As Jesus calls His spouse it is good to know what the spouse, Our Holy Catholic Church has to say this and every day.

"May we love You and possess You, for You are love ~
and may every action of our lives praise You."

From a letter to the Corinthians by Saint Clement, Pope

The Spirit pleads for us

Dear friends, take care that God’s blessings, which are many, do not become the condemnation of us all; we must live lives worthy of Him and in mutual harmony do what is good and acceptable in His sight. He tells us: The Spirit of the Lord is a lantern, searching the hidden places of our inmost being.

We must remember how near He is and that no thought of ours, no conversation we hold is hidden from Him. It is right, therefore, that we should not turn our backs and flee from God’s Will. We should rather give offense to stupid and foolish men, puffed up and taking pride in their boastful speech, than give offense to God.

Let us reverence the Lord Jesus, Whose Blood was shed for us. Let us respect those in authority, let us honor the presbyters. Let us train the young in the fear of God. Let us lead our wives toward all that is good. Let them show by their conduct that they are lovers of chastity; by their gentleness let them reveal a pure and sincere disposition; by their silence let them manifest the control they have over their tongues; let them bestow an equal charity, without respect for persons, on all who have a holy fear of God.

Your children must share in the way of discipleship in Christ. They must learn how effective humility is before God, what chaste love can accomplish with God, how good and noble is the fear of God, for it brings salvation to all who possess it and who live holy lives with a pure heart. The One Whose Spirit is in us is the searcher of our thoughts and of counsels of our hearts. At His will, He shall take that Spirit from us.

All this is strengthened by the Faith that comes to us in Christ. He Himself addresses us through the Holy Spirit and says: Come, My children, listen to Me: I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Is there a man who wants life, desiring to see good days? Keep your tongue from evil, and your lips from speaking what is false. Turn away from evil and do good. Seek peace and go in pursuit of it.

The Father is merciful in all He does and full of generosity; He is loving to those who fear Him. In goodness and gentleness He gives His graces to those who approach Him with undivided hearts. We must then put away all duplicity and not be distrustful in the face of His excelling and ennobling gifts.

And You Shall be like Streams of Living Water

PURIFICATION
........ A message to Catholic families from Jesus to a young
woman, wife and soon to be Mother ......
"Dear Emily,
The time has come for the purification of the world. Only I will know the
severity of the purification, but purification is a necessity. You must be
strong and calm.

Lead your family to me. Be a warrior in times of struggle. This is not a time to sit back, but to take action. How do you do this? By prayer and spreading the word of God. During this time of struggle, people will look to your family for comfort and words of kindness. Direct these people to me and to my church. Some will not know that what they are seeking is me. Point them in the direction of the church and encourage confession and quiet time in front of the alter. I love you and will protect those who love me and are faithful. I cannot protect those who do not know me because of the barriers. But I will continue to try and reach them, and there will be an abundance of opportunities for people to see and feel my light. You and your family need to be disciples. Not just any disciple, but like John. The disciple that was at the foot of my cross and remained faithful till death. When you are praying with your family, meditate on each prayer and place yourself in the action of the prayer. When at church during the consecration of the Eucharist, picture yourself at the table of the last supper. It is essential to meditate because you will be given strength from the Holy Spirit to continue your journey during this time. Just know this, I am merciful. I will show mercy on those who ask for it. Do not be afraid to ask for mercy during your suffering, but when your suffering is bearable, offer it up for the salvation of the world. The preparation you have faced throughout your journey has led you to this point. The time has come to be a prophet. Jesus"

The St. Jude Novena
(Audio/Video Version)

Most holy St. Jude – apostle, martyr and friend of Jesus, today I ask that you pray for me and my intentions!
(State your intentions here)
You are the patron of the impossible. Pray for me and my intentions! O St. Jude, pray that God’s grace and mercy will cover my intentions. Pray for the impossible if it is God’s will.
Pray that I may have the grace to accept God’s holy will even if it is painful and difficult for me.
St. Jude, pray that I may know God’s will in my life.
O St. Jude, pray for me that I may grow in faith, hope and love and in the grace of Jesus Christ. Pray for these intentions, but most of all pray that I may join you in heaven with God for all eternity.

Amen.

Go rebuild my Temple

About 20 years ago I was very involved in raising my family and doing volunteer work for the Catholic community where we were living.  I had developed a strong prayer life and a routine that almost always included Daily Mass.  I learned to pray the Liturgy of the Hours, from the Xaverian Missionary Fathers at the Fatima Shrine in our town of Holliston, Massachusetts.  There were very often three masses within a short drive of my house during the week.  I actually put on my cross country skis one stormy day and skied to the 9 am Mass at St. Mary's.  Cross country is my favorite outdoor activity.  Fr. Haley never cancelled Mass, you could be sure the doors were open and the Mass started right on time.

I worked hard to bring awareness to the Xaverian Missionaries.  I ran fund raisers as well as programs like Family Life in the Spirit and Divine Mercy Sunday Celebrations. We brought in singers and had Rosary walks and of course the St. Theresa of the Child Jesus prayer group.  The prayer group was made up of children up to the high school age, most of whom attended Catholic school or were home schooled. We made, World Mission Rosaries and prayed with the children an amazing amount of lengthy litanies and of course the Rosary.

One particular day I had gone to Mass three times, at three different churches. That was an all time high for me. In the early morning hours I was awakened by St. Francis of Assisi.  My first thought was, what are you doing here and why you, as I pretty much work for St. Francis Xavier.  I had never thought of it that way but I was trying to build up the Xaverian Mission.

There were no words, he just looked at me and gave me the Precious Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus in the form of his real flesh. I felt it oozing in my mouth.  I knew it was real flesh, without a word St. Francis disappeared.  As I pondered this I thought perhaps this event would some how come back to me in the future.  As far as I am concerned the future is now.  We are in a time of needing to rebuild the Temple of the Most Holy Catholic Church.

Jesus did not come to abolish the law nor did he tell St. Francis to change the laws of his church. St. Francis with the help of a few good friends and St. Clare, founder of the Poor Clares to re-build not to start over or change the already Pure church.

I believe that Jesus is looking for a group of Women Espoused to Purity in order to uphold his pure intentions for all of us.  He needs women to guide and direct those looking to find the right path to Jesus. Women who will console the heart of Jesus in a special way.  Women who are willing to take up their cross and follow Jesus in purity.  To give the life they are living as a sacrifice for the needs of the church in our world today.

Our Lady of America Newsletter, October 4, 2015
Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi

Thank you for your support and prayers for this devotion to Our Lady of America. This newsletter: (1) urges everyone to continue with the 54-Day Novena; and reports that: (2) the Solemn Procession did not occur when Pope Francis came to the National Shrine of The Immaculate Conception; and, (3) the oral argument in McCarthy v. Fuller did occur on September 21, 2015, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit has taken the case under advisement. Therefore, please pray that the U.S. Court of Appeals upholds the trial court judgement in McCarthy v. Fuller, including the permanent injunction, and that this Court at Chicago renders that decision quickly.

We continue to be hopeful and encouraged that the United States Catholic bishops will have that solemn procession, but only when and if this Federal appellate court upholds what the District Court decided in 2014.
Please continue with the 54 Days of Praying The Holy Rosary which began Saturday, The Solemnity of The Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary and extends through The Feast of Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary, October 7, 2015. Primary Intentions: For Family and Marriage, and the U.S.A. Bishops to have that Solemn Procession at the National Shrine of The Immaculate Conception of the Our Lady of America statue:
• Including for Peace, Sanctity of Human Life & Religious Freedom; and,

• For purity through the solemn procession and permanent placement of the Our Lady of America statue in the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception at Washington, D.C.!

The Novena website is 54Days.org
Keep in mind what Our Lady of America preached on October 7, 1957:
“Making the Rosary a family prayer is very pleasing to me. I ask that all families strive to do so. But be careful to say it with great devotion, meditating on each mystery and striving to imitate in your daily lives the virtues depicted therein. Live the mysteries of the rosary as I lived them, and it will become a chain binding you to me forever. They who are found in the circle of my Rosary will never be lost. I myself will lead them at death to the throne of my Son, to be eternally united to Him.

“Write these words upon your hearts, my dear children, because of the compassion I have for you in my Immaculate Heart. Oh, if you knew the punishments I am holding back from you by my pleading and intercession on your behalf!"

By Thy Holy & Immaculate Conception, Oh Mary, deliver us from evil!

I will spend my Heaven doing good on earth

I would like to briefly share my relationship with St. Theresa of the Child Jesus.  When I was 32 I was given the diagnosis of lupus.  I had just given birth to my second son Gregory.  I was in so much pain I saw a rheumatologist who made the diagnosis.  I could not accept that fate as I had two sons a husband and my life ahead of me.  Instead of taking the medicine and going to bed I looked for alternative ways to find relief from the pain.  We lived close to a Chiropractic college were I was able to get some relief.  I made major dietary changes that seemed to help as well.  Somewhere in all of this I began a Bible Study with one of my neighbors.  I am from the age of Catholics who don't read the Bible so it was a big step for me.  As I began to feel better I wanted another child, something I was told by the doctor not to do.  I did it my way and became pregnant with our third son Dan.

A few weeks after his birth I became very ill again spending most of my days in bed.  I began watching the 'Be Healed Ministries'.  Pat Robertson and his wife just sat on the screen and chatted about Jesus healing people right through the television screen, I'm a Catholic we don't believe this stuff.  I passed the time watching and wondering why they were all so happy.

Before Dan was six weeks old we were moving again and I was very sick.  I was walking very slowly in front of our house and heard a voice say,  "start a prayer group".  I knew in my heart it was St. Theresa of the Child Jesus.  I had never heard of her but she let me know who she was.  In spite of my illness I had several of the women in the neighborhood going to Bible Study with me so I simply asked if they wanted to start a prayer group.  Out of 20 or so invitations four of us showed up.  No one knew how sick I was, they only knew I spent a lot of time in my house.

We sat down in my family room with no plan we just knew we were suppose to pray.  Three Catholics and one Born again Christian.  There was a woman in our neighborhood who was dying of lung cancer so we would pray for her.  Before we could get started I could feel my body starting to go dark as if I was actually passing out or perhaps dying.  I spoke these words,  "Jesus please heal me".   Immediately the room was filled with the power of God.  Jesus stood in front of me and said,  "I am going to heal you", I felt the power of God going through my body and could actually tell what was being worked on.  Two other women in the room experienced healings that day as well.

Bill had already been transferred from Springfield to Boston so a few weeks later we moved to Holliston, Massachusetts.  St. Theresa was a guide for me in the early years of my conversion.  I studied and practiced her, "Little Way".  I was not completely healed until I followed her all the way back to my Catholic faith bringing the family of then four boys, and a husband with me.  Yes it took awhile because I am very stubborn, I didn't want to surrender to Lupus or to the rules of the Catholic Church.  Peace and health are found in surrender.

To you my beloved St. Theresa The Little Flower, I say thank you for having the faith to bring my foolish life before the throne of God and ask for my healing.  Thank you for bringing your beloved Jesus into my life.  Because of you I have for years prayed for the gift of Love.

I look forward to meeting you again some day in heaven.

Saint Theresa The Little Flower, please pick me a Rose from the Heavenly Garden and send it to me with a Message of Love.  Ask God to grant me the Favor I Thee implore and tell Him I will Love Him each day More and More.  Amen
