Ash Wednesday Feb. 14th, 2018

For years our culture has been plagued by all sorts of addictions that enslave those who are addicted and those who love them. At this point in our history it would surprise me very much if anyone can say they are not affected by drugs, alcohol, anorexia, gambling or any one of the hundreds of life threatening addictions that plague our times our families or our loved ones. I thought the Lent of 2018 would be a good time to invoke Venerable Matt Talbot to give aid to all of our souls as we attempt to make crooked lines straight and bring some of this madness to an end. I have posted many times the words Jesus spoke to me about the legalization of Marijuana. In desperation he cried out to me, "They are legalizing the death of my children." And we are loosing thousands of children and adults. Marijuana is a gateway drug being legalized for money, money money.

Back in Matt Talbot's time as a raging alcoholic in Ireland the only antidote to the addiction problem was to kneel before the tabernacle in the Catholic Church and pledge to Jesus that you would never take a drink again. Given the numbers of people in need of saving this could be the only way to get the ball rolling. We must all get on our knees and beg for our selves, our loved ones , our neighbors and our friends.

So we put before Matt Talbot and God through the Catholic Church, (because Matt lived the Sacramental life and went to Mass daily, three times on Sunday.) this urgent need to save lives and souls. You can click on the bar above for more info on Matt Talbot. I expect the prayer to be included at the end of our daily prayers.

May this be a Hope filled Lent for all !!!

Margaret of Souls for Jesus

Novena Prayer

God of mercy, we bless You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who ministered to all who come to Him. Give Your strength to N., Your servant, bound by the chains of addiction. Enfold him/her in Your love and restore him/her to the freedom of God's children. Lord, look with compassion on all those who have lost their health and freedom. Restore to them the assurance of Your unfailing mercy, and strengthen them in the work of recovery. To those who care for them, grant patient understanding and a love that perseveres. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Official Prayer for the Canonization of Blessed Matt Talbot

"Lord, in your servant, Matt Talbot you have given us a wonderful example of triumph over addiction, of devotion to duty, and of lifelong reverence of the Holy Sacrament. May his life of prayer and penance give us courage to take up our crosses and follow in the footsteps of Our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Father, if it be your will that your beloved servant should be glorified by your Church, make known by your heavenly favours the power he enjoys in your sight. We ask this through the same Jesus Christ Our Lord. Amen."
